During our 13 years Le Bateau has always adopted the approach of having a fun, friendly and attentive team, giving a relaxed atmosphere and making Le Bateau an enjoyable place to be.

Joanne Harris – Captain of the Boat

Joanne previously owned a busy nightclub, alongside her husband and our resident DJ Martyn the Hat. Jo is very passionate about the industry and Le Bateau and is fun and very welcoming! Jo has been for Le Bateau for many years now and likes to build up strong customer relationships, she is very friendly and efficient, as is all her team at Le Bateau.

Rosie – 1st Mate

Rosie previously owned numerous bars across Bournemouth & also completed a BSc Hons in Hospitality and Catering. Rosie is very friendly, attentive and full of energy. Rosie has been at Le Bateau now for many, many years, and is a very familiar face in the daytime, so pop in for a coffee!

Aly – 1st Mate

Aly has managed bars across the South, and is a very experienced and attentive member of our team! Aly will always greet you with a smily face and is always keeping busy to ensure the high standards of Le Bateau are in order. Aly’s husband is a well known DJ, and promoter Gary Ellis, who also supports our team at Le Bateau.

Jamie – Head Chef & Kitchen Team

Award winning Head Chef, Jamie, has worked at some of the best restaurants in the South. Previously he was Head Chef at local well established restaurants including Cafe Shore and Harbour Heights. Jamie is extremely hard working and dedicated with a good sense of humour; he likes to play practical jokes on his team.

Jamie has a strong kitchen team, who are dedicated, yet have a relaxed style of working – Jamie doesn’t have raised voices in his kitchen!.

Fran – Head Waitress / Supervisor

Fran is head waitress in our restaurant, and has been at Le Bateau for many years. She is fast, efficient and feisty, she likes to get the job done right… Fran is also undertaking a university course, and enjoys dressing in burlesque.

Rory – Full time Supervisor

Rory temporarily came to Le Bateau during his travelling and has enjoyed it so much he stayed! Rory has been a fantastic part of our team, hardworking and friendly, becoming familiar with many of our regulars and visiting the other local bars.
